Fostering Supportive Accountability for Results

Overview

Blame, victim mode, fear, and shrinking the game are the enemies of results and accountability within the workplace. All too often accountability is framed as a “gotcha” moment verus what it should be doing which is supporting people to raise their performance.

Supportive accountability is premised on the notion that if we are striving and stretching we will all fall short sometimes.  Supportive accountability takes the shame out of falling short and replaces it with learning, growth and support.

This interactive workshop reframes accountability as a supportive conversation that elevates performance and relationship rather than shame, blame and eroding relationships. Lastly, we look at how teams can create a high-performing culture through greater support, straight talk, and courageous conversations.

After this workshop, participants will:

  • A comprehensive and aligned understanding of individual and team accountability
  • A common language and tools for people to ask for what they need and to hold others to account
  • A clearer understanding of what the team’s culture is and how participants can shift it to be more accountable and higher performing
  • Better decision-making tools using more accountable language that generates greater clarity leading to better team results
